It's not yet official, but some sneaky photographers have snapped a few shots of a Jeep crossover in the works. Those on the inside expect that we will see the scaled-down Jeep as soon as the 2015 model year. Speculated to be a replacement for the Patriot and Compass in the new Jeep lineup, the crossover will be built on a FIAT 500X platform. It will even be produced in Italy per the FIAT and Chrysler partnership.

While it is a smaller SUV, it may not be as tiny as some expected. Seen crossing the European Alps concealed in camouflage, we imagine the rugged vehicle will be equipped with all-wheel drive. Industry experts say that the auto will be available in both front- and all-wheel options.

The SUV, which will be fall under the FIAT banner in Europe and under Jeep here in the states, has not yet been officially named. But, when info was leaked about the new crossover back in January 2013, rumors started flying. Car enthusiasts have been guessing what the Chrysler Group will call the new "baby" SUV and also believe that it will have sharper lines and angles than its Italian counterpart. Additionally, it's been said that the powertrain will take after those on the Alfa Romeo-based Dodge Dart.

If this post has you excited about the new Jeep crossover, feel free to stop by Patterson Chrysler Dodge RAM Jeep to check out and test drive one of our current models. Our Marshall, TX area team would be happy to discuss both upcoming and available styles with you.
