The Jeep brand is working hard to keep their customers safe as they recall an estimated 228,181 Jeep Cherokees due to unexpected airbag deployment. While the airbag deployment has caused no accidents to date, the company is offering customers a software update to fix the airbag deployment.

The company said in an official statement that only a small number of airbags inadvertently deployed due to extreme maneuvers in the SUV that "dramatically changed the vehicles' angle of operation, relative to the ground," which caused the vehicle to sense potential rollovers. Since this is only a software tweak, the recalibration will keep the vehicle within safety regulations and will maintain the integrity of the vehicle.

Once this minor mishap is corrected, however, you can fully enjoy this award-winning vehicle's abilities on-road and off-road. If you own a 2014 or 2015 Jeep Cherokee, please contact our service department to have this issue addressed 100% free of charge.
