Last week, FCA US LLC proudly reported that Chrysler and Jeep brands received recognition as the industry's most improved brands in J.D. Power's 2016 U.S. Initial Quality Study (IQS). Both makes saw their IQS scores improve 20 percentage points over last year's study.
Considered the premier benchmark for new-vehicle quality, IQS scores are determined based on the results of more than 80,000 survey responses. The 233-question survey targets purchasers and lessees of 2015 and 2016 model-year vehicles after the first 90 days of ownership. Organized into eight problem categories, the survey asks customers to identify issues with their vehicles’ design, as well as defects.
“Our commitment to quality is starting to show results as Chrysler and Jeep make strong improvements in initial quality, but there is still much work to do,” said Scott Garberding, Head of Quality, FCA – Global. “My colleagues and I are focused on continuing the positive momentum created so far as we look to earn and maintain the trust and loyalty of customers across all our brands.”
