jeep gladiator farout
Are you tired of paying your mortgage, utility and homeowner’s insurance every month? What about the constant upkeep of the lawn and landscaping requirements to stay out of trouble with the HOA?

What if there was a solution where you could leave it all behind? We all know the struggle, and now the ultimate solution has been unveiled—the Jeep Gladiator Farout concept. Behind the wheel of this outrageous overlander, you could leave the troubles of home ownership behind and simply live out the remainder of your days embarking on the world’s greatest adventures.

The Gladiator Farout concept is designed to go on multi-day trips, where it utilizes Jeep’s new 3.0L EcoDiesel to its full advantage with its best-in-class fuel range. That means you can travel to even more remote places you’ve never been able to reach before in fear of running out of fuel. A Wrangler with this same engine has a 538-mile fuel range, so the Gladiator should perform comparably. The entire premise Jeep envisioned with this concept is that no adventure is ever off limits.

Go Into the Wild

While its fantastic fuel-range probably won’t sell you on the idea of listing your house, perhaps the integrated rooftop tent, fully functional fridge and stove and comfortable seating area will make you reconsider. If you’ve ever watched Sean Penn’s screen adaptation of Into the Wild and dreamed that you too could leave it all behind like Chris McCandless—there’s certainly no better vehicle to embark on that journey with than the Gladiator Farout.

The tent comfortably sleeps four individuals, which means you won’t have to leave your family behind. Once deployed, the tent opens up a 16’ long by 7.5’ wide space for sleeping and other recreational activities. Yes, there’s even enough room to fit a ping-pong table. Hanging storage racks, built-in seating and a table space are also present inside.

On the outside, the Gladiator Farout wears aggressive 17” matte charcoal wheels wrapped in 37” mud terrain tires, a 2” lift from Jeep Performance Parts and a modified Gladiator Rubicon steel bumper with a winch rated for 12,000 lbs. Fox Performance shocks and front and rear rock rails allow the vehicle to handle treacherous terrain and overcome almost any obstacle encountered off-road.

Could Gladiator Farout Concept Become a Reality?

The Gladiator Farout is merely a concept at this point, and we can only hope Jeep enables it to become a full-fledged production vehicle. Or at the very least, make its unique components like the rooftop tent, fridge and stove available at the parts counter so current Gladiator owners can trick out their rides. Perhaps more so than any other brand, Jeep has developed a loyal following of enthusiasts. Additional overlanding equipment that can be installed seamlessly without modifications would certainly be met with jubilation.

The engine powering this concept is available for the first time in the 2021 Jeep Gladiator EcoDiesel on the Gladiator Sport, Overland and Rubicon models. With 260 hp on tap, a 28-mpg highway fuel economy rating and a monstrous 442 lb-ft of torque, the 2021 Gladiator is poised to be more powerful and capable than ever before. Orders are open now, and it will go on sale during the third quarter of 2020.
